500000m² - Rose

Oserian, Kenya

A heating system for roses, with a geothermal source as an alternative source of heat. It is the largest project worldwide where terrestrial heat is used for greenhouse heating. Besides the heating system in the nursery of 500.000 m2, a 4.000 m long stainless steel pipe has been laid for transport of carbon dioxide which is a waste product of a generator driven by geothermal steam.

We have realized:

  • The design of the piping from the geothermal source to the heat storage tank;
  • The designs of the transport circuit to the greenhouses and the heating system in the greenhouses;
  • The design of the piping from the generators to the greenhouses;
  • The designs of the CO2 distribution network to the separate greenhouses and the piping in the greenhouses;
  • The designs of the heat storage tank and the CO2 cooling system;
  • The electrotechnical layout and connection of all motors;
  • The electrotechnical layout and connection of CO2 ventilators and valves in the greenhouses.
